About Public Square (where we are located)
Public Square has been a community destination for over 100 years, once featuring the historic Woodruff Hotel. It was originally gifted to the community by the city’s first settlers.
Without continued local support, the Square risks losing its vibrancy and could eventually become nothing more than a traffic circle. Today, the area remains a thriving hub with:
• 15 locally owned eating and drinking establishments
• 5 venues that routinely host live music and events
• More than 5 retail shops
In this compact, completely walkable downtown, Watertown offers more options to eat, drink, and shop than any of the surrounding lake towns.
Our Story
We opened because of a need for an establishment with a focus on community and history in the heart of the city
We serve Southern-fusion food, featuring breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Full bar with prohibition era cocktails and a wide selection of bourbons. Gourmet desserts made by Europe Cakes. We offer a safe space for members of the community to gather, play board games, view art from local artists, and listen to live music. Our dining room is decorated with relics that highlight the more than 150 years of owners, businesses, and general history of 65 Public Square (formerly 17 Public Square). We love talking about the history of the Square and the evolution of our building - including historic tours through the building that have been researched in depth by the owner using resources at the Flower Memorial Library and the records retained from the building.
